Build, browse and socialize in the Immersive Internet.
Janus VR is the internet like you’ve never seen it before.
Janus VR is a corporation based in San Mateo, California, and Toronto, Ontario, that develops immersive web browsing software. It was founded by James McCrae and Karan Singh in December 2014. Named after Janus, the Roman God of passages, JanusVR portrays web content in multi-dimensional spaces interconnected by portals.
Get started with the simple JML Markup Language.
Janus VR uses its own markup language (called JML) which is very similar to HTML, so it’s very easy to get started. With just a few lines of code, you can create a simple VR Site that anyone can host on a normal website.
Below is a complete example of how you would put a picture (testimage.jpg) inside a VR Site that can be viewed from within Janus VR in Virtual Reality.
The rabbit hole goes deep though as you get into scripting, server API and room translators.
If you are familiar with 3D editing tools you’ll find the set of exporters very useful if you want something a bit special on your VR Site. Currently, there are exporters for Maya, Blender, Unity,Sketchup and Unreal – to Janus VR.
